Job Summary
Manufacturing (Electrical) Engineer responsible for evaluating production line efficiencies and leading engineering projects across multiple locations with a strong focus on electrical controls and automation. Job involves designing and modernizing automated control systems using PLCs, HMIs, motors, drives, and sensors; providing PLC/HMI software support; developing control-system software; conducting system testing and validation; generating cost estimates; and maintaining thorough technical documentation. Requires collaboration with operations leadership, cross-functional teams, vendors, and suppliers to implement safe, cost-effective automation solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and safety. Travel is extensive (75-80%), including Canada and Mexico, with responsibilities spanning design, implementation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of manufacturing control systems to meet industry standards and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, including controls, automation, and process improvement responsibilities
- Expertise in designing, programming, troubleshooting, and supporting PLCs and related automation systems (e.g., Siemens and Allen-Bradley), HMIs, motors, drives, sensors, CAD software such as AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
