Manufacturing Data Specialist

Job Summary

Create, maintain, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), Bills of Operations (BOOs), and Methods of Manufacturing (MOMs) within the ERP system. Validate manufacturing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering specifications, while configuring new products and supporting Engineering Change Orders. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Production Planning to maintain part numbering standards, product structures, and routing information. Perform data audits, troubleshoot ERP issues affecting production or inventory, and develop documentation for manufacturing processes. Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce data errors. Assist with ERP system improvements and testing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience maintaining manufacturing master data in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of: Bills of Materials (BOMs), Bills of Operations (BOOs), Methods of Manufacturing (MOMs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Product configuration
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Collaborative team player with strong cross-functional relationship skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor/Kinetic strongly preferred)
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
  • SQL or reporting experience
  • Understanding of manufacturing costing
  • Knowledge of ISO or quality management systems
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations or upgrades
