Job Summary
Manufacturing Controls Manager leading a controls engineering team to design, develop, and implement electrical/controls solutions. Responsibilities include workload management for engineers and drafters, recruitment and staff development, setting design and programming standards, reviewing equipment design specs with the controls team and systems engineer, planning control design assignments, coordinating layouts and operation sequences, providing manufacturing support (in-house testing and Factory Acceptance Tests), delivering shop-floor instruction on Electrical Systems specs, analyzing engineering sketches to select components, creating process descriptions, and supporting the sales team with technical documentation and customer proposals. Requires a BSEE, 5+ years in controls engineering with 5+ years in management, strong PLC/HMI, industrial networking, MCC, and Closed-Loop Servo experience, 7+ years in manufacturing, Siemens programming preference, AutoCAD 2012 proficiency, and proven leadership and multi-priority management skills.
Required Qualifications
- A BSEE in electro-mechanical design engineering
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in Controls Engineering plus five years in staff management
- Proficiency in industrial electrical design, PLC programming, HMI software design, industrial networking, MCC hardware/software configuration, and Closed-Loop Servo control
- Minimum seven years' experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong preference for Siemens programming
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2012 and Microsoft Office
