Job Summary
Manufacturing Buyer / Purchasing Specialist responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, fabricated components, and MRO supplies to support production. Manages vendor relationships, inventory levels, and production timelines within an ERP environment (Infor Visual preferred). Forecasts material needs, expedites orders to avoid downtime, tracks purchase orders and lead times, and supports continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing operation. Knowledge of stainless steel materials, fabrication components, and materials used in automotive, motorsports, chassis building, exhaust manufacturing, or metal fabrication industries is highly valued. Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel and standard business software. Proactive collaboration with production, engineering, warehouse, and management teams to meet deadlines and optimize costs.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience purchasing stainless steel materials, fabrication components, or industrial/manufacturing supplies
- Working knowledge of materials used in automotive, motorsports, chassis building, exhaust manufacturing, or metal fabrication industries preferred
- ERP system experience required; Infor Visual experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proven ability to manage vendors, negotiate pricing, and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to take direction and work independently
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business software
- Proven history of reliability, accountability, and consistent performance
