Job Summary
Utilize tools to repair damaged pallets to service-ready condition and build new wooden pallets from recycled materials or lumber. Examine repaired products to verify conformance to quality standards and maintain a clean, safe working environment meeting 48forty's standards. Stack materials correctly per inventory control instructions and check loads for security. Communicate effectively with supervisors and work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas. Requires high school degree, woodworking tool experience, and ability to lift 75 pounds in extreme conditions. Join the largest pallet management services company in North America.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or GED
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardized requirements exist
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools
- Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
- Repetitively lift up to 75 pounds
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision
- Must have a good sense of balance & good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas in the repair area, safely
- Must maintain a clean & safe working environment that meets 48forty's standards
- Observance of all safety rules and regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship
- Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing
