Job Summary
Utilize tools to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition and build wooden pallets from recycled materials or lumber. Examine repaired items to verify conformance to quality standards, stack materials correctly, and check loads for security. Maintain a clean and safe working environment while working without constant supervision to meet production quotas. This production-based role involves repairing and constructing pallets for 48forty Solutions, the largest pallet management services company in North America.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or GED
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardized requirements exist
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools
- Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
- Repetitively lift up to 75 pounds
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision
- Must have a good sense of balance & good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Observance of all safety rules and regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship
- Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing
