Job Summary
Receive wood from the saw shop and piece together pallets using a nail gun along set stringers. Stack finished products by hand for forklift operators to move to appropriate areas. Ensure safety for yourself and others by following all company procedures while maintaining high standards of quality and volume. This piece rate position offers competitive daily pay, with earnings increasing as you repair more pallets. Work involves lifting up to 75 pounds and operating in conditions including heat, cold, and air particulate. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift wooden pallets which weigh about 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
- Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision
- Ability to communicate effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Previous lumber, warehouse, construction, carpentry, landscaping, roofing, experience highly preferred
