Job Summary
Receive wood from the saw shop and assemble it with a nail gun along set stringers to build and repair wooden pallets daily. Stack finished products by hand for forklift operators to move to appropriate areas while ensuring safety and maintaining high quality standards. This piece rate position offers competitive pay ranging from $18.00 to $25.00 per hour, with shifts running Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:00pm in Memphis, TN. You will need a high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift 50 lbs regularly, and previous lumber or construction experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift wooden pallets which weigh about 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
- Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
