Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of the fabrication/CNC department, including waterjet, press brake, and CNC punch/laser activities. Lead and develop machinists, operators, and technicians through hiring and training while establishing clear KPIs and output targets. Create production schedules aligned with project needs, generate work orders, and balance machine loading with labor resources. Develop standardized manufacturing processes, implement lean initiatives, and act as the primary liaison to Engineering for design feedback and NCR resolution. Manage equipment maintenance, tooling development, and future automation investments to drive profitability and cost control within the shop.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in manufacturing or fabrication operations leadership
- Experience managing CNC machining or sheet-metal fabrication
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes
- Proven ability to manage shop personnel and implement processes
- Hands-on, floor-oriented leadership style
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Amada fabrication equipment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods
- ERP/MRP experience for manufacturing planning
- BS in Industrial Engineering or related field (preferred)
