Job Summary
Set up and operate manual vertical turret lathes for rough and finish machining of heavy industrial components. Read and interpret technical blueprints to ensure accurate specifications, then perform quality inspections using precision measurement tools like micrometers and dial indicators. Load and unload heavy workpieces safely using overhead cranes while calculating optimal speeds and feeds for various materials. Maintain equipment and document work accurately throughout the shift. This full-time role requires 5+ years of experience with manual vertical turret lathes and proficiency in precision measurement instruments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience operating manual vertical turret lathes
- Proficiency with precision measurement instruments
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints
- Strong understanding of tight tolerances and quality standards
- Experience with heavy industrial components and castings
- Ability to safely handle heavy materials and equipment
