Job Summary

Machinist sets up and operates manually controlled machines to repair plastic injection molds and related tooling, reads drawings/blueprints, fabricates jigs and fixtures, and performs mold repair for production runs. Responsibilities include regulating mold repair methods, documenting mold movement, disassembling/cleaning/reassembling molds, using calipers, dial indicators, and micrometers for verification, maintaining mold history and preventive maintenance records, and ensuring safety compliance. Pro Trak KMX knowledge is a plus; position requires 8 hours on the production floor and a pre-employment physical, with 2nd shift duties at Corelle Brands in Byhalia, MS.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 years of preferred vocational degree or 4 years of job shop experience
  • Proficient reading of drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to understand and carry out Standardized Work Instructions
  • Understand ratios, percentages, fractions, basic trigonometry
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision making
  • Complex Problem Solving; identify complex problems and evaluate options
  • Must pass Corelle Brands pre-employment physical test
  • Ability to move about on the production floor for a minimum of 8 hours per shift
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 45 pounds; team lift if over 45 lbs
  • Proficient in set-up and operation of tool room equipment
  • Reading and interpreting mold repair procedures and documentation
  • Experience with measuring instruments (calipers, dial indicators, micrometers)
  • Maintain mold history records and preventive maintenance records
  • Knowledge of injection molds and related tooling
  • Ability to document movement of molds in/out of facility
  • Disassemble, clean, reassemble molds and related components
  • Repair mold cores and cavities
  • Repair or build custom jigs and fixtures
  • Ensure mold shop equipment is in proper working order and report issues
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts
  • Adherence to safety rules/regulations
