Job Summary

Manual QA Engineer for the SIMBA Team validating the SIMBA voice AI product across browsers and devices. Responsibilities include designing and executing detailed manual test plans and test cases, performing hands-on testing for new features, bug fixes and releases, collaborating with engineering, product, and customer-support teams to reproduce, document, and triage defects with clear steps and expected vs. actual results, maintaining QA documentation and regression suites, participating in Agile ceremonies, executing regression testing and release validation, and continuously improving QA processes and test coverage. Ideal candidates will have a BS in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience, 3+ years of manual QA experience focused on web applications, strong fundamentals in test planning, regression, exploratory testing, and bug reporting, experience in Agile environments, excellent troubleshooting and clear written communication, and familiarity with Jira/Linear or similar tools; nice-to-have skills include accessibility testing (WCAG), text-to-speech/audio products familiarity, basic test automation exposure, and API validation with Postman. The role offers a competitive base plus commission, equity, and benefits, and is a full-time remote position within Speechify SIMBA.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in manual QA testing, with a strong focus on Web applications
  • Strong understanding of QA fundamentals including test planning, test case design, regression testing, exploratory testing, and bug reporting
  • Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating cross functionally with engineering and product teams
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to isolate root causes and communicate issues clearly
  • Strong written communication skills, especially when documenting defects and test results
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Linear, or similar bug tracking/project management systems
  • Experience using browser developer tools to assist with debugging and issue reproduction
  • Nice-to-Have: Experience with accessibility testing and familiarity with WCAG guidelines
  • Nice-to-Have: Familiarity with text-to-speech technologies or audio-based products
  • Nice-to-Have: Exposure to test automation tools (even if not responsible for building automation)
  • Nice-to-Have: Experience validating APIs using tools like Postman
