Job Summary
Own your work center by setting up and operating manual mills and lathes, including Bridgeport Manual Mills, to machine high-mix, low-volume, and highly custom parts. Create custom workholding for unique, one-of-a-kind pieces while reading complex blueprints, drawings, and heavy GD&T to meet exact specifications. Perform manual measurement and inspection using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators to verify tight tolerances, troubleshooting operational issues in real-time without automated programming. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace following 5S standards. Shifts run Monday through Thursday, 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in manual machining
- Deep understanding of heavy GD&T
- Complex blueprint reading
- Machining planning steps
- Strong measuring and manual inspection skills
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and move throughout most of the shift
- Capability to lift and move parts up to 50 pounds
- Comfort working independently on highly custom, one-of-a-kind, or small-batch parts
- Track record of reliability, punctuality, and taking true ownership of your work
