Job Summary
Operate various manual machining tools and equipment to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies, including drilling, tapping, boring, conventional milling, and lathe work. Perform metalizing, spray welding, MIG, TIG, torch, and stick welding operations. Execute tool-post grinding, broaching, and Babbitt bearing work while using hand-held and stationary power tools. Adhere to all safety procedures with proper protective gear and record data for sizing and design results. Lift, tighten, and secure heavy objects. Assist other machinists and shop departments as directed by the supervisor and shop manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, plus trade school, vocational/technical school, military, or on-the-job training and/or certifications
Desired Qualifications
- Laser alignment and field balancing ability preferred, but not required
