Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machine tools to produce complex, precision parts while reading blueprints and technical drawings. Verify dimensions using advanced precision measuring instruments and perform routine maintenance on shop equipment. Mentor junior machinists by sharing best practices and troubleshoot complex machining challenges to recommend efficiency improvements. Collaborate with engineering and production teams for custom part fabrication and specialized repairs while upholding strict safety and cleanliness standards. Requires 15+ years of experience, expert knowledge of machining practices, and the ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 15+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist in a manufacturing or precision machine shop environment
  • Expert-level knowledge of machining practices, machine shop math, and materials
  • Proven ability to handle complex setups and tight tolerances
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions
  • Leadership ability with experience training and mentoring other machinists
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs
  • Commitment to quality, precision, and continuous improvement
