Job Summary
Collaborate with machinists and craftsmen in the Central Repair Shop to refurbish and manufacture parts for equipment repairs in accordance with Dow specifications. Accurately read blueprints, interpret layouts, and draw working sketches when required. Set up and machine precision fits on lathes, mills, key seaters, surface grinders, and drill presses while understanding metal properties, hardness, and heat treatment effects. Sharpen tools, set up balancing machines, and use attachments like tool post grinders and indexing heads to perform complex machining operations safely. Follow all shop procedures and safety rules without exception, communicate effectively with internal shops to maintain job flow, and apply proper use of machining tools, inserts, and alloys. Completed vocational school or equivalent certification and proven experience operating manual machining equipment are required.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances
- Knowledge of machining processes, materials, and cutting tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with safety standards in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to perform physical functions including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and other repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodation
