Job Summary
Set up, adjust, and safely operate engine lathes, turret lathes, milling machines, drills, and tool grinders to fabricate precision industrial components. Review technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production execution, then take precise measurements for cutting and forming materials. Check work tolerances using precision instruments to maintain strict quality assurance, documenting variations and discarding defective components as necessary. Identify equipment maintenance needs, perform minor repairs, and notify the Production Supervisor of safety concerns or accidents. Maintain a clean, organized work area with proper tools while adhering to PPE requirements in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility.
Required Qualifications
- demonstrated experience operating and maintaining industrial lathes, milling machines, and drills
- high school diploma or GED equivalent
- proven knowledge of reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- proficiency in utilizing precision measuring instruments to verify strict tolerances
- Commit to communicating facility or maintenance-related issues promptly to management
- Display a strong dedication to maintaining workspace safety and proper tool management
