Job Summary
As a Manual Machinist on the 1st shift, you will coordinate activities for layout and machine setup to exceed fabrication and assembly requirements. The role requires proficiency in manual and CNC vertical milling machines, engine lathes, and vertical band saws. You will work independently with minimal supervision, support engineering updates by providing data on design-related issues, and assist colleagues as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent, along with a technical school certificate or journeyman program, is required, along with the ability to read instructions, perform mathematical calculations, and apply geometric concepts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2 year certificate from a technical school or an accredited journeyman program; and a preferred 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume
- Knowledge of basic concepts of geometry
- Ability to apply a common sense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
