Job Summary
Machine parts, molds, and tooling on manual and CNC lathes and mills from detailed drawings without supervision. Creatively solve machining problems to ensure products meet specifications while providing inputs into product design for cost-effective manufacturing. Operate MIG welding equipment for steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, and support lathe maintenance by making repair parts. Read measuring instruments and follow instructions in a fast-paced environment, working in a standing position while lifting 50 pounds. This role requires significant experience creating complex parts and tooling for urethane molded parts, with an expectation of coaching and mentoring team members.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in operating manual and CNC lathes
- Experience in operating manual and CNC mills
- Experience making molds and toolings from engineering drawings
- Experience in MIG welding steel, aluminum and stainless steel
- Ability to read measuring instruments; such as a pi tape, tape measure, and micrometers
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow instructions and lists from supervisor
- Ability to communicate in oral and written English
- Ability to show up for work daily and on time
- Ability to work in a standing position
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a safe manner
- Ability to perform tasks in a fast paced environment
- 7-15 years of experience making parts and molds on manual/CNC lathes, mills
- Ability to read drawings and build parts to print
- Coaching, and/or mentoring skills
- Team player skills; ability to work well with others and support internal cross-function needs
- Significant experience creating complex parts and molds in manual/CNC lathes and mills
- Experience in complex machined parts production
- Experience creating tooling for urethane molded parts
- Hiring for first or second shift
