Job Summary
The Manual Lathe Machinist operates manual lathes to fabricate and repair hydraulic and pneumatic components, ensuring precision and quality in conformance with specifications. Requires strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to five years of experience in a job-shop environment
- Ability to use all types of micrometers, close tolerances, and surface finishes
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to handle all types and sizes of tie rods, tubes, and rods
- Familiarity with OD and ID threading
- Familiarity with machining cold rolled steel, bronze, cast iron, aluminum, and some heat-treated materials
