Job Summary
Manual Lathe Machinist needed to operate manual lathes and VTLs, machine parts to specifications from blueprints, read and interpret technical drawings, measure using calipers and micrometers, repair and refurbish industrial components, and maintain a clean, safe work area in a full-time shift (6am-6pm, Mon-Sat) in Houston, TX. Responsibilities include setting up machines, ensuring tolerances per work orders, inspecting dimensions, maintaining tooling, and adhering to safety and quality standards. Preferred experience with large/heavy components and basic milling.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience operating manual lathes and/or VTL machines
- Strong understanding of machining techniques, tolerances, and materials
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
