Job Summary
Develop and implement fun, effective teaching plans for Mandarin learners, creating simple yet challenging curriculum with engaging activities like arts and crafts. Provide clear lesson structures to maintain a lively pace, assess student achievement of learning objectives, and systematically record progress. Establish and maintain a well-developed routine and classroom environment while effectively managing a group of young students. Communicate with parents and school personnel using educational software and email, and collaborate with fellow teachers and curriculum specialists. Perform additional duties as assigned. This role supports Ni Hao Chinese's mission to build community and support language development for children ages 2-17 across seven Southern California locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Linguistics, Education, or Early Childhood Education
- Native Mandarin speaker
- Proficiency in English
- Passion for education
- Skill in creative teaching methods
- Ability to effectively express yourself through voice and gestures
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to evaluate, analyze, and solve challenges when working with young children (ages 4-12)
- Ability to effectively communicate with parents and school personnel
- Ability to utilize educational software and email
- Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers and curriculum specialists
Desired Qualifications
