Job Summary
Health Care Assistant (Registered Care Aide) for Senior Helpers of Vancouver. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing), instrumental activities of daily living (light housekeeping, meal preparation), monitoring client condition and reporting to healthcare team, mobility assistance, dietary support, medication reminders and administration under supervision, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and providing emotional support and companionship. Mandarin language proficiency is required to communicate with clients and families; English proficiency required as well. Must have BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry registration and completion of a recognized HCA program; minimum 1 year experience; negative TB test and clear background checks within 90 days; CPR/First Aid (preferred). Flexible to work various shifts including evenings and weekends. Salary: $25.00-$27.00 per hour. Location: Vancouver, BC (in-person). Schedule: Casual/Part-Time with multiple shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program
- Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting (minimum 1 year)
- Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days
- A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred)
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
