Managing Technical Consultant, Wildlife Biologist

Job Summary
Lead wildlife field programs and provide technical leadership for mining and energy projects across western and northern Canada; oversee ecological assessments and habitat evaluations, influence regulatory approvals through EAs/EISs, and mentor junior staff. Responsibilities include developing wildlife strategies, collaborating with regulators and Indigenous communities, supporting business development, and delivering client-ready technical outputs with strong writing and project-management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Biological Sciences or a related field
- 4+ years of environmental consulting experience
- Experience with industrial projects and environmental effects analysis, mitigation planning, and monitoring
- Strong understanding of federal, provincial, and territorial regulations and survey methodologies (BC, Alberta, Northern Canada)
- Proven experience leading wildlife field programs (birds, amphibians, large mammals)
- Advanced technical writing and reporting skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor team members
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule
- Driver's License required
