Managing Scientist (Ph.D.)

Job Summary
Conduct strategic business development and client networking to grow technical services for global fate and transport of chemicals, regulatory initiatives, and sustainable strategies. Interpret water resources and land-use activities focusing on emerging chemicals, environmental monitoring, and production processes. Direct analyses, prepare regulatory documents and expert reports, and synthesize technical information for presentations. Author peer-reviewed publications and participate in professional society conferences while collaborating with interdisciplinary groups. Manage moderate scope projects with competing deadlines and communicate within multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Ecotoxicology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, or another related field
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience
- At least 4 years of direct consulting experience
- Expert-level knowledge of emerging chemicals, legacy contaminants and the ability to assess fate and transport of pollutants
- Working knowledge of sustainability and management of constituents in the environment
- Strong understanding of scientific sampling methodologies and state-of-science on a broad range of terrestrial, wildlife, soil, and water quality issues
- Proven experience with data analysis and statistics
- Proven experience in the assessment of risk
- Proven experience managing tasks of moderate scope and complexity
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines, and communicate within multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communications
- Strong commitment to personal development and the development of staff
- Presently legally authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Board-certified risk assessor
- Understanding of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations pertinent to water quality and related environmental sciences, including ESA, NEPA, TSCA, REACH, RCRA, CERCLA, and Clean Water Act in the U.S. and similar laws and regulations in other countries
- Experience in addressing both proactive and litigation-related matters
