Job Summary
Oversee all aspects of memorial services at the San Juan location, including preparation of the decedent, visitation, and disposition of remains. Direct staff performance and schedules for Embalmers, Directors, and assistants while managing the embalming process and coordinating transfers. Meet with families to discuss arrangements, costs, and disposition options, and schedule clergy, pallbearers, and cemetery facilities. Manage issuance of death notices and ensure timely filing of paperwork with agencies and media. Develop and maintain the funeral home budget and financial records. Requires 5+ years in funeral home management, mortuary science coursework, and state licensing.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in funeral home and cemetery management and leadership
- 2 years of college or vocational school required with coursework in mortuary science
- Licensed according to state requirements
- Understanding of laws related to funerals and funeral arrangements
- Detail-oriented and extremely organized
- Must be able to lift heavy weights at times
