Job Summary
Oversee editorial aspects of NHPR's weekday morning and afternoon news magazines; manage a four-person team including hosts, producers, interns, and fellows; serve as lead editor on stories from pitch through final draft; ensure on-time, flawless delivery of audio to multiple platforms; manage live/remote broadcasts and collaboration with digital and audience teams; participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff development while guiding editorial direction across multiplatform news content.
Required Qualifications
- A. in relevant field or equivalent work experience
- Seven to ten years of experience in audio journalism (reporting, producing, or editing) for broadcast
- Three to five years leading and managing a team
- Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail
- Ability to train less experienced staff and challenge more experienced staff
- Strong project management skills
- Exempt status/onsite role (full-time)
