Job Summary
Managing Director, Senior Program Counsel - Risk & Compliance provides strategic legal counsel across privacy, information security, HIPAA and data protection, licensing and accreditation, employment laws, and disputes for Casey Family Programs. Responsibilities include advising executives and staff, overseeing records management, insurance, and litigation, coordinating with the Privacy Officer on privacy and AI-related obligations, developing policies and training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a multifunctional legal team. The role requires on-site work in Seattle, WA, with travel up to 20% and a senior leadership capacity within a mission-driven, diverse nonprofit environment.
Required Qualifications
- Law Degree with a minimum of fifteen years of broad-based experience in the private, public, or non-profit sector
- At least five years supervisory experience
- Knowledge of employment laws, litigation, privacy and security laws, and risk management
- Working knowledge of child welfare systems, the legal and legislative aspects of foster care, adoption and guardianship, and related grants (highly desired)
- Privacy Certification through IAPP (CIPP/US and CIPM) highly desired and preferred
