Job Summary
Managing Director for J.S. Held's Complex Accounting & Litigation practice leads and expands engagements in forensic accounting, litigation consulting, and expert witness services. The role requires strategic leadership, client relationship development, and mentorship of junior staff, overseeing diverse engagements—from regulatory inquiries to complex investigations—and delivering reports, presentations, data visualizations, and testimony. A CPA or equivalent certification is required, with 15+ years of related experience and strong written/verbal communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The position supports remote work flexibility and is located in Reston, VA, with a salary range of $200,000–$300,000.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant or equivalent
- 15+ years of experience in auditing, CFO, regulatory or standard setting, forensic accounting, litigation consulting, and expert witness services
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow teams and manage client engagements
- Ability to develop go-to-market strategies and build client relationships
- Ability to distill complex findings into clear, actionable insights
