Job Summary
Lead counsel focused on privacy and data security for LA28/USOPP. Responsible for coordinating data protection and privacy efforts across internal teams and with external partners; draft and update privacy policies, terms of use, and consents; advise on applicable privacy regulations and contract privacy provisions; negotiate privacy-related terms with vendors; collaborate with Technology and business units; design training on data protection and privacy; advise on incident response requirements; support data mapping, data analytics issues, and governance; develop metrics and reporting to ensure ongoing compliance with domestic and international laws; maintain up-to-date expertise in privacy law. Requires Undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, California Bar admission, and 5+ years of related experience.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor Degree from ABA-accredited law school
- California Bar admission strongly preferred
- U.S. Data Protection and/or privacy certifications highly preferred (CIPP/US)
- Minimum of 5+ years professional experience related to data privacy, protection, and contracts
- Knowledge of domestic and international data privacy and protection regulations and best practices
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements involving data privacy and protection
- Experience updating and implementing privacy policies and compliance programs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and communicate with senior executives
