Job Summary
Lead complex air quality projects by overseeing consultant-level staff, critically reviewing federal and state environmental regulations, and preparing permit applications for industrial and energy clients. Conduct engineering evaluations to estimate emissions and assess control technologies while maintaining client relationships and managing deliverables to meet quality standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the U.S. to develop sustainable solutions, with opportunities to leverage advanced regulatory strategy and generative AI tools. Required Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, Atmospheric Science, or a related physical science with strong quantitative coursework
- 9+ years of air quality consulting experience, including air permitting, compliance, and/or air dispersion modeling
- Demonstrated project management experience, including proposal development, managing scope, schedule, budgets, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Experience with client relationship management, and business development efforts
- Strong understanding of air pollution control technologies and air dispersion modeling tools (e.g., AERMOD)
- Experience interpreting and applying federal and state air regulations, including Clean Air Act programs (e.g., NSR/PSD, Title V, NSPS and NESHAP)
- Multi-state experience
- Demonstrated experience preparing air permit applications, including NSR/PSD and Title V, encompassing emissions calculations, regulatory applicability analysis, application preparation, and agency coordination through permit issuance
- Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients, regulators, and stakeholders, including presentations and regulatory interactions
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience with programming (e.g., Python, R), databases
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staff in technical and consulting skills
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
