Job Summary
Manager, Workplace Desktop Engineering in Columbus, OH (hybrid) leads the desktop team, defines schedules, sets priorities, and ensures timely, professional service to end users. Responsible for supervising day-to-day desktop operations, promoting innovation in IT enhancements, planning training and development, maintaining enterprise desktop security and standard application suites, developing and enforcing procedures, and contributing to budgeting and project initiatives aligned with departmental priorities. Collaborates with ACS, clients, and vendors, handling incidents, identifying trends, implementing process improvements, and guiding hardware/OS/software troubleshooting, patch management, and enterprise security practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer/technical related field or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience
- Minimum of 8 or more years of relevant industry experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory position
- Proven technical support experience with multiple operating systems, computers, servers, and networks in an enterprise environment
- Proficiency with ITIL, Project Management, IT Security, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 (Office, SharePoint, Entra, Azure)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, management, clients, and non-technical users
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly
- Strong attention to detail, organization, reporting, and time-management
- Ability to handle multiple, changing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Initiative, self-motivation, and a results-driven attitude
