Job Summary
Manager, Wholesale Business Development owns end-to-end outbound new business development in wholesale for US & Canada across off-price, mass, specialty, and chain retail. You will hunt net-new retail buyers, prospect, pitch, and close deals, while not stewarding existing accounts. Responsibilities include building a 15–25 account pipeline, leading outbound outreach (cold contact, warm referrals, trade shows), negotiating terms, developing pitch materials, and onboarding new partners. You’ll represent Smard Art and Art Factree at trade shows, align SKU positioning with retailers, explore white-label/private-label opportunities, and deliver weekly pipeline updates and market intelligence. Required: 3–5+ years in wholesale/opening new accounts, proven net-new wholesale closings, deep knowledge of retail buying mechanics (margin structures, MOQs, open-to-buy, compliance), full sales-cycle experience, and readiness to work from Atlanta, GA.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5+ years in wholesale sales, retail account development, or a buyer-facing role with direct experience opening new retail accounts from scratch
- Verifiable track record of closing net-new wholesale doors with named major retailers
- Strong working knowledge of retail buying mechanics, including margin structures, MOQs, planograms, open-to-buy, and retailer compliance requirements
- Experience managing a full sales pipeline from cold prospecting through to close, not just post-close relationship maintenance
- High self-motivation and comfort operating in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment where the playbook is still being written
- Based in or willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA
