Job Summary
Recruit, screen, and train volunteers while managing the Second Helpings volunteer program and serving as their primary liaison. Develop policies, design schedules, and coordinate orientation and ongoing training for all volunteers. Maintain accurate records of hours contributed and retention, manage the volunteer budget, and order supplies and recognition items. Collaborate with staff and program leadership to enhance the volunteer experience through mobile app improvements and group sign-ups. Communicate regularly via newsletters, emails, and database postings, and utilize various recognition forms to engage the corps. This role requires a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends, with a preference for candidates holding a degree in a related field and possessing one to three years of management experience.
Required Qualifications
- One to three years management and/or supervisory experience
- Prior experience as a volunteer
- demonstrated community involvement
- Understand basic volunteer motivation and management
- Possess an excellent memory (especially names) and a high degree of patience
- Adept at relationship building, both internally and externally
- Strong computer skills with experience in database management, word processing, and creating HTLM documents

- Able to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

- Vision (with correction if necessary) capabilities include close and distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
