Job Summary
Manager - Transport & Distribution Operations drives business development and sales initiatives for transportation solutions in the cold chain domain. Responsibilities include identifying and prospecting potential clients across manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and other users of transportation services; developing and implementing market-entry and growth strategies; conducting market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive activity; building and maintaining a robust sales pipeline to meet targets; preparing proposals and presentations detailing transportation solutions, pricing structures, and value propositions; negotiating contracts and pricing; collaborating with operations, finance, and legal to tailor solutions; tracking activities and performance using CRM tools; generating reports on sales performance and market opportunities; and traveling as needed. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 5 years of transportation sales experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, proficiency with CRM and MS Office, and the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field
- Proven track record of success in transportation sales or a similar role, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience
- In-depth knowledge of the transportation industry, including freight forwarding, logistics, trucking, or related services
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel as needed
