Job Summary
Coordinate and implement Best Buddies Transitions Program curriculum through classroom-based instruction, small group, and one-to-one support to develop social, vocational, and workplace competency skills for adolescents and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Screen referrals, perform intakes, and manage a caseload of participants by documenting services in case records and initiating transfers to Jobs Program staff upon program completion. Develop positive relationships with families, support coordinators, and community stakeholders while overseeing volunteer management and program recruitment. Collaborate with supervisors to increase awareness through local marketing, public speaking, and media initiatives, and contribute content for state website and social media updates. Complete required paperwork, including case file documentation and reports for local funding agencies, and maintain organized filing systems using Salesforce and other databases.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years experience or employment in job coaching, counseling, or special education
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, human resources, business administration, or economics from an accredited college or university
- one year of experience as described above
- 1 year experience as an employment consultant
- proven strong record employer communications and relationship
- 1 year experience in special education or vocational training
- Must be adaptable and able to quickly and effectively develop and balance multiple relationships and get results from a variety of people
- Strong presentation, facilitation, project and time management skills
- Strong written communicator who pays close attention to detail
- demonstrates a strong initiative, drive for results and self-assessment skills

- Must be comfortable engaging with people with IDD
