Job Summary
Manage a small driver count and non-traditional shifts to ensure safe, timely freight movement and load assignment while providing best-in-class customer service. Learn to build relationships with drivers and carriers, fill in for absent personnel, and optimize fleet operations for profitability. Utilize personnel management by training drivers and employees, and become proficient in maximizing efficiency through continuous improvement, KPI measurement, and financial reporting. Perform administrative duties including payroll, budget management, driver counseling, and accident reviews. Manage yard operations by inspecting equipment, coordinating maintenance, and resolving service issues, routing, and mechanical problems as they occur. Maintain company safety culture through daily messages, briefings, and DOT compliance enforcement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or related field
- equivalent military experience
- Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable
- Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
- Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment
- GED (Required)
