Job Summary
Manage small driver counts and non-traditional shifts to ensure safe, timely freight movement and best-in-class customer service. Build relationships with drivers and carriers to optimize fleet operations, profitability, and productivity while filling in for absent personnel. Train and orient drivers and employees on internal and third-party systems, utilizing personnel management to maximize efficiency and drive continuous improvement. Perform administrative duties including payroll, budget management, driver counseling, and P&L analysis. Manage yard operations, inspect equipment, coordinate maintenance, and enforce safety culture through daily messages and driver briefings. Assign loads, route freight, monitor delivery, and resolve service issues, routing, or mechanical problems as they occur.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or related field
- equivalent military experience
- Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company event locations
- Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
