Job Summary
Lead the division's Total Rewards strategy by designing compensation, benefits, and employee reward programs that support recruitment, retention, and recognition. Supervise the Benefits team while developing salary structures, pay practices, and classification processes to ensure equity and fiscal responsibility. Oversee administration of medical, dental, vision, retirement, and leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Partner with Finance, Payroll, and district leaders to develop compensation solutions, analyze workforce data to strengthen competitiveness, and cultivate relationships with external providers. Serve as the primary advisor on compensation philosophy and Total Rewards programs to align with strategic priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in compensation, benefits, or human resources
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience
- Experience in public education or another large, complex organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment requiring responsiveness to urgent employee needs
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office applications, and workforce analytics tools
- Frequent collaboration and relationship building across internal teams and with external agencies
- Extensive knowledge of compensation strategy, employee benefits, leave administration, and Total Rewards principles
- Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Ability to develop innovative solutions that strengthen recruitment, retention, and employee engagement
- Strong analytical, organizational, financial, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret workforce data and translate analysis into strategic recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with employees, administrators, and external partners
- Occasional evening or weekend work
