Job Summary
Operate the designated testing laboratory team in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices, CLIA, and FDA regulations. Oversee donor testing supervisors, manage payroll, schedule staff, and approve PTO requests. Perform authorized tests, conduct competency assessments, and lead investigations for deviations, errors, and adverse events. Manage inventory, execute validations, and ensure compliance with all safety SOPs and regulatory audits. Provide technical guidance to internal and external customers while maintaining proactive communication. Mentor staff, conduct performance evaluations, and coordinate crisis response. Host tours for residents and students, and participate in ongoing clinical trials and research initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS/MT)
- Bachelor of Science degree in chemical or biological science, with minimum requirement of 6 credits in biology and 6 credits in chemistry completed
- BA in core sciences
- Minimum of four (4) years of clinical laboratory experience
- Supervisory experience
- National Clinical Laboratory Certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Knowledge of AABB, FDA, and OSHA regulations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites
- Comprehend and apply clinical laboratory procedures and theory
- Working knowledge of LIS and BECS
- Working Knowledge of all institutional and personnel policies, confidentiality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds
- Written and oral communication skills and computer input/retrieval
