Job Summary
Lead the Residential Engineering Compressor Technology team by driving execution of engineering and technology objectives, translating project goals into clear priorities and actionable plans. Manage a team of engineers by establishing expectations, promoting accountability, and ensuring effective delivery against business commitments. Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, and structured skill development initiatives in areas such as compressor technology, thermodynamics, and simulation. Establish and continuously improve engineering processes, design practices, and development methodologies to enhance quality, consistency, and productivity. Track progress against project milestones and technical objectives while proactively identifying risks and driving timely resolutions. Provide technical guidance to support the development of advanced scroll compressor technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, manufacturable solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 15–20 years of progressive experience in rotating machinery, compressor technology, or advanced product development
- Demonstrated technical depth in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, structural mechanics, design methodologies, and model-based engineering
- Ability to drive engineering decisions using analytical, simulation, and data-driven approaches
- Proven track record of leading deep-tech engineering teams in the development of innovative technologies, products, platforms, or engineering solutions from concept through commercialization
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking capabilities
- Experience applying advanced engineering tools such as CAE, CFD, FEA, optimization methods, digital engineering, and model-based product development
- Ability to establish and continuously improve engineering processes, design standards, technical governance, and knowledge management practices
- Demonstrated success in building technical capability through coaching, mentoring, and development of engineering talent
- Experience leading technology roadmaps, technical risk management, and strategic engineering initiatives aligned with business objectives and future product needs
- Onsite work arrangement (with remote work considered on an ad hoc basis)
