Job Summary
Manager, Technical Engineering leading a cross-functional engineering team with hands-on contribution (20–30%) to deliver scalable SaaS platform services. Oversees architecture, metrics (KPIs), on-call incident management, and collaboration with Product, Security, Architecture, and Operations to align engineering with business outcomes. Mentors and develops direct reports, drives continuous improvement, champions modern development practices, and fosters a collaborative, high-performance culture. Requires strong hands-on experience across .NET/Java/C#, cloud-native microservices, containers/Kubernetes, and experience with cloud providers; seeks a candidate with extensive leadership experience and a track record of delivering SaaS-based software in regulated/fintech environments.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in software development or similar engineering fields
- 5+ years in managing engineering teams
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding
- Strong hands-on experience in .NET, Java, C#, Linux Container Development, k8s, MVC, SaaS, SOA, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Modern Javascript Frameworks, Entity Framework, microservices
- Experience working with Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Solid understanding of Operational Excellence and CI/CD, automated testing, observabilities
- Experience with Observability tools like Grafana, New Relic, Haystack
- Experience with real-time processing using event-driven architecture and batch processing of high-volume transactions
- Experience building complex role-based access and entitlement systems
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams
- Experience recruiting, mentoring, and managing software engineers
- Experience communicating requirements and designs to users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
- Experience managing global teams across multiple time zones
- Experience with Lean-Agile methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum
- Preferred fintech or digital banking experience
- Knowledge of treasury management, cash positioning, liquidity management, commercial payments (ACH, wires), and reconciliation
- Familiarity with ISO 20022, BAI2, MT940, and EDI 820
