Job Summary
Review new contracts for revenue recognition timing and method under U.S. GAAP and company policies. Assess quarterly Estimate at Completion packages for long-term contracts and apply finance policies to business activities. Support special projects, offset accounting assessments, and external/internal audit procedures including ad-hoc requests and quarterly reviews. Participate in technical accounting projects such as policy harmonization, data analysis, system testing, and process improvement. Document accounting judgments in formal white papers and offset project accounting memoranda. This Manager Technical Accounting role supports the Raytheon ASDS Strategic Business Unit Controllership team in the aerospace and defense sector.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8 years prior relevant experience
- Advanced Degree in a related field
- Minimum 5 years experience (for Advanced Degree)
- Working experience with SAP and/or APEX and/or similar system
- Working experience with MS Office tools, especially Excel
- U.S. Citizenship
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
- Experience with IT systems including data warehouses and ERP software
- Working experience in accounting, audit, or program finance in industry or public accounting environments
- Experience with financial reporting software
- Interaction with stakeholders in team and matrix organization environments
- Preparation of written documentation and communication of accounting information in verbal and written formats
- Application of financial accounting concepts in accounting or finance activities
- Execution of assigned work activities in a matrix organization environment
- Experience reviewing contracts or agreements for accounting treatment
- Experience researching transactions under U.S. GAAP or company policies
- Experience preparing or reviewing Estimates at Complete (EACs)
