Manager, Technical Accounting

Job Summary
Connect with global regional platforms to provide oversight for growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions and financial investments. Lead research and drafting of position papers on transactions, while participating in property, plant, and equipment valuations for annual IFRS reporting and M&A activities. Perform and review analysis under IFRS 9, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16, maintain internal controls for a SOX compliant close process, and coordinate quarter and year-end audit support with independent auditors. Provide ad-hoc support to the Vice President. This role requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience, a recognized professional accounting designation, and on-site presence for at least four days.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years or more of relevant work experience
- Capable of managing difficult and demanding situations
- Demonstrated knowledge of IFRS
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis of consolidated financial results and in the preparation of supporting documents for complex financial statements
- Understanding of valuation techniques, specifically discounted cash flow
- Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls
- Experience in working in a growing organization with changing needs and multiple business transactions that have an impact on the consolidation process of the business
- Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, to adapt quickly and to manage changing priorities
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and use sound judgment
- Solid analytical abilities, combined with being detail-oriented
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CA/CPA)
- Quality and detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent team player
- Good knowledge of Excel
- Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield's identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days to perform most effectively.
