Job Summary
Own external financial reporting and manage the preparation of financial statements for public readiness, including drafting portions of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and supporting schedules. Conduct technical accounting research on complex transactions, new accounting pronouncements, and XBRL requirements to implement impacts across teams. Support quarterly reviews, annual audits, and statutory filings while ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SOX controls, and SEC regulations. Manage equity-based transactions, draft accounting policies, and drive efficiencies through system reporting upgrades and process improvements. Work closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders to communicate technical interpretations and deliver recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in accounting
- CPA
- 8+ years of experience in external reporting, technical accounting, and/or external audit
- Broad experience and knowledge of US GAAP
- technical accounting experience related to accounting requirements and regulations
- Some experience with public company filings process and SEC document writing
- Excellent documentation skills - attention to detail, rigorous work paper standards
- Ability to quickly synthesize data and provide recommendations
- thorough knowledge of GAAP
- Able to understand and comply with XBRL requirements and other SEC reporting rules
- competent presentation skills (experience preparing materials and presenting)
- Aptitude for understanding accounting systems and consolidations logic
- Ability to work across multiple departments
- High level of Excel and Word skills required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience filing Form S-1 is a plus
- knowledge of NetSuite and Wdesk (Workiva) is desirable
- Quick learner with desire to continue to learn and grow knowledge base
- Confident, self-starter who is comfortable with a mix of thoughtful strategy work and everyday details
