Job Summary
Oversee preparation and filing of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns and other information returns. Manage Canadian, international, and consolidated quarterly and annual tax accounting provisions under US GAAP. Handle international tax compliance, transfer pricing documentation, and intercompany transactions reporting. Prepare responses to Canadian federal, provincial, indirect, and state tax audits. Provide tax support and guidance to internal stakeholders while assisting with income tax projects and related research initiatives. Manage indirect tax compliance for various jurisdictions. This role reports to the Tax Director within North American Construction Group's finance team, focusing on tax matters across multiple jurisdictions with a primary emphasis on Canadian tax.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive tax experience
- Accounting designation (CPA) in progress or completed
- Completed or enrolled in CPA In-Depth Tax
- Experience in public accounting or multinational corporate tax department
- Experience with income tax returns for Canadian corporations and partnerships
- Working understanding of indirect taxes
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Highly detail oriented
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software as well as Excel
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employee and management

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred
- Accounting designation (CPA) in progress or completed preferred
- Completed or enrolled in CPA In-Depth Tax and willingness to complete the program
- Experience in public accounting or multinational corporate tax department is an asset
