Job Summary
Manage a team of SEIT engineers within the Targeting Department, balancing 80% of time on technical program work and 20% on functional organizational support. Lead system architecture development, requirements definition, and verification activities while overseeing cost, schedule, and technical quality for multiple initiatives. Conduct functional reviews for major milestones and drive initiatives in Model Based System Engineering and Agile implementation. Recruit new talent, manage performance reviews, and forecast staffing needs to support new business growth and internal R&D. Serve as SEIT Lead or Integrated Product Team Lead in restricted program spaces, ensuring compliance with engineering processes and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering / technical discipline with a minimum of 8 years' experience
- Master of Science degree in an engineering / technical discipline with a minimum of 6 years' experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- High proficiency in technical problem solving, including decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring
- Background and understanding in tools and techniques associated with cost / schedule management (especially Earned Value Management)
- U.S. citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain additional customer specified clearance
- Full-time and on-site in Rolling Meadows, IL
- Master's degree in a relevant technical or management specialty
- Active Secret / Top Secret Clearance
- 5+ years of related engineering experience working in an engineering organization at a defense contractor during EMD and/or LRIP phases
- Management experience leading teams including Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test
- Experience in development and Earned Value Management (EVM) of cost accounts and schedules
- Experience working in a systems engineering, integration, and test environment on complex projects that encompass hardware, software, and firmware development
- Experience with electronic warfare, EO/IR, laser, or related defense systems
- Experience in all aspects of the engineering process from proposal / requirements analysis through verification testing and fielding of systems
- Proficiency in MS Project, MS Office, MATLAB, Simulink, Cameo, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), and Agile techniques
