Job Summary
Manager Systems Engineering 1 at Northrop Grumman leads technical and people aspects within the Integrated Mission Solutions team. Responsibilities include coaching and developing staff, coordinating with Engineering Leadership and Program Management to ensure staffing and priorities, guiding diverse engineers, driving engineering process improvements, and overseeing requirements analysis, design, experimentation, verification, and lifecycle activities for DoD programs. On-site in Warner Robins, GA with 10% travel; relocation assistance may be available. Requires Bachelor’s (or Master’s with 3+ years) in Electrical, Computer, or Biomedical Engineering, ABET accreditation, and a U.S. Government Secret clearance (active or ability to maintain). Preferred: active Secret or higher clearance, project/team lifecycle leadership, personnel management, circuit-card design, FPGA design, BOEs for proposals, and experience with DoD programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Biomedical Engineering from an ABET accredited school (Master’s with 3 Years also acceptable)
- 5 years of relevant experience (Masters 3 years)
- Experience designing, integrating, troubleshooting and testing complex systems including hardware and software
- Experience with legacy system sustainment and modernization, including hardware redesign due to obsolescence
- Experience with Department of Defense programs
- U.S. Government Secret level security clearance (must be able to maintain)
- Active Secret level (or higher) security clearance preferred
- Experience leading a project and/or team through full program lifecycle (requirements analysis, design, trade studies, prototyping, fabrication, verification testing and sell-off)
- Experience formally managing personnel
- Experience with schematic development and circuit card design
- Experience with FPGA design (firmware development, testing and integration)
- Experience with estimating tasking and basis of estimates (BOEs) for Proposals
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering field; strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work on-site in Warner Robins, GA
- Travel up to 10%
