Manager, Supplier Quality Engineering

Job Summary

Lead the Juárez Supplier Quality Engineering function with visible, hands-on leadership on the plant floor and active participation in operational forums. Establish a proactive, ownership-driven culture while ensuring supplier quality support is embedded in production to prevent disruptions and accelerate issue resolution. Drive root cause analysis, containment, and recurrence prevention through the SCAR process, applying rigorous analytical tools for complex failures. Manage relationships with component suppliers, CEM partners, and JDM vendors to ensure consistent high-quality part delivery. Define performance KPIs tied to response time, containment effectiveness, and closure rates, while collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, NPI, and Purchasing to improve execution speed. Ensure proper documentation of supplier quality processes and maintain adequate staffing for both existing production and new product introduction projects. Provide ongoing coaching, conduct performance reviews, and lead organizational improvements that align team priorities with plant operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of wide-ranging experience in quality or manufacturing functions with responsibility for results, including costs and methods
  • Minimum 3–5 years of people leadership experience managing supplier quality or quality engineering teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Capability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to interact face-to-face with Shure's plants, suppliers, and other internal teams
  • Experience creating, using, and managing KPIs to improve team execution and stakeholder visibility
  • Demonstrated ability of working on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends
  • Demonstrated experience in determining the best use of resources to meet goals and assignments received in the form of objectives
  • Skill at process redesigns and process optimization, develop schedules, and establish performance requirements
  • Proven ability to lead cultural change and raise standards of accountability, responsiveness, and collaboration in an existing team
  • Strong coaching and performance management skills; able to develop people while also addressing poor behaviors and inconsistent execution
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders and cross-functional management
  • Ability to effectively champion and lead change

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification as an American Society for Quality (ASQ) Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence is strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of mainstream Quality Tools – for example, Lean Techniques, Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R), Process Capability Analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments, Trend Analysis, Pareto Analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP), and others
  • Familiarity with current component measurement techniques. For example – OGP, 3D X-Ray, Calipers, and Mechanical Gauges
  • Working knowledge of materials and part commodities. For example - injection molded plastics, zinc, aluminum, magnesium, brass, copper, coatings, die castings, metal machined and stamped parts, cables, printed circuit boards, electronic components, rubber, and packaging
