Manager, Structural Engineering

Job Summary

Lead structural engineering technical design and development for Olympic and Paralympic venues, including temporary infrastructure and renovations. Oversee external engineers and consultants to prepare design books, advance concepts through construction drawings, and manage review processes against IOC requirements and local codes. Analyze existing infrastructure to determine supplemental improvements and collaborate with architects to integrate structural designs into overall venue plans. Coordinate with cross-functional areas to develop workplans, manage costs, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during operations and maintenance. Manage an installation team onsite and present technical information to internal stakeholders, contractors, and governmental agencies.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience with structural engineering infrastructure design and construction
  • Accredited bachelor's degree in structural engineering
  • Experience leading diverse teams delivering complex, high-profile infrastructure projects
  • Ability to manage external consultants to meet project goals
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering tools and software (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with excellent command of productivity and collaboration tools (Office360, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Autodesk Cloud, etc.)
  • Experience with key industry codes, standards, and practices
  • Knowledge of key structural engineering activities, including preparation, installation, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of fundamental project management concepts (e.g., scope, schedule, budget)
  • Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making
  • Accredited bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office
  • Employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment
